Our bean of the year for 2012 is a filet type bean that has a dark green color. It is a very early bean that is a higher yield with very good taste. The beans should be picked when the pods are about the diameter of a pencil. These beans are easily picked because they are borne at the top of sturdy bushes. Excellent for fresh eating as uncut pods, but can be used for canning and freezing.
