Start 6 weeks prior to outside planting, plant 1/4" deep in flats, transplanting into Jiffy Pots when plants are 2" high, or directly into the soil as soon as it can be worked, sow thinly 1/4" deep in rows 3' apart, spacing seed 18" apart. Maturity dates are based from the time the plants are transplanted into the garden. To provide proper blanching, the heads should be tied before they are 3" across. A packet contains about 75 seeds.
