Broad Beans

Also known as Fava beans, the broad bean is a cool season crop that will not set pods when temperatures climb above 70° F. It is essential to get seeds in the ground as soon as soil can be worked in the spring. Plant 1" deep, 4-6" apart in rows 18-30" apart. Caution: Persons of Mediterranean descent have a genetic trait which may cause an allergic reaction to Fava beans.
