Blueberry

Blueberries require a loose, highly organic and acidic soil with pH of 4.5 to 5.0, planted in a full sun location. Plant two or more varieties for successful pollination. Plants will usually produce fruit in 2 to 3 years from planting. If soil pH has not already been lowered at time of planting, amend soil with Hi-Yield® Aluminum Sulfate (51142). In mid-summer, after harvest, apply soil sulfur mixed with organic compost as a loose top-dressing around each plant to help maintain low soil pH. Fertilize plants twice a year. Apply 1/2 feeding in spring prior to blooming and second 1/2 after fruit set. For establishing healthy plants, remove all first-year blooms if produced.
