Ornamental, fragrant and a delightful addition to any garden. Seasoning with herbs adds the crowning touch to your gourmet meals, roasts, sauces, salad dressings and omlettes. When using herbs for culinary purposes, harvesting should be done before the plants blossom. This encourages the development of new growth and allows a second and even a third cutting. The best time to harvest is in the morning while the essential oils are still concentrated. If it is necessary to wash the herbs, rinse them gently in clear water and let them drip-dry in a basket. If drying for use later, use as little heat as possible to preserve the aromatic oils.
