After danger of frost, when soil is 55-60°F, plant seeds 1" deep, in rows 6-8 feet apart, 3 seeds per foot, thinning to 1' apart, or plant in hills 6 seeds per hill, thinning to 3 plants per hill 6-8' apart each way. Seeds will not germinate in cool soil. Allow 9-12 days for germination. Well-rotted manure mixed into the bottom of each hill will help increase yields. When harvesting, leave stems on the squash. For best storage do not wash and do not bruise. A packet contains 30 seeds unless otherwise stated. One oz. contains 200 seeds.
