All of these varieties are especially sweet because they contain the sh2 endosperm gene which slows the conversion of sugar into starch. Because of this, the seeds are smaller and shriveled which means there are substantially more seeds per pound. These varieties require ISOLATION by at least 250° in each direction for large acreage and 35 feet in a garden situation. Cross-pollination will seriously affect the eating quality. For good germination, plant the seeds after the soil has reached 65°F. Poor germination will occur at temperatures below 65°F.
