The earliest green bean we've ever offered. Pods are 6" long, thick, slightly curved, oval, tender and stringless. Very tolerant of hot weather and mildew. Matures over a short period of time, so you can complete your canning or freezing quickly.

I've been planting Contender bean since 1974 in Great Falls, MT. I don't know if you were my source then but you 've been my source most of the time for the last 10 years. Contender beans ar early and reliable in short season areas. I've grown them in Great Falls, St. Maries, Idaho and now, on a mountain at 3100 ft in North Idaho. They taste good, can well and bear reliably even with cool nights. I've planted them as late as July 6 and still had a good crop.
